Garmin Vivoactive 4 Smartwatch Review In Detail
We have extensively used Garmin Vivoactive 4 smartwatch which is part of the Garmin smartwatch family, focused on running. We are going to let you know the pro’s and con’s of Vivoactive 4 smartwatch. It is cheaper than Garmin’s Forerunner flagship, it’s a fantastic fitness smartwatch if you are happy without statistics offered by their flagship models. Garmin Vivoactive 4 was revealed at the IFA conference in September 2019 following the Vivoactive 3, launched in 2017. It is currently priced for around $300 ( 22,999 Indian Rupee) from its initial pricing of $349.99 ( 26,999 Indian Rupee). If you want to own a Garmin fitness smartwatch aimed at running features, it is a good product. You can also go with Vivoactive 3 , but we won’t recommend it as it lacks many features.
Stay tuned as we review Vivoactive 4 for you in-depth, so you can make a buying decision if you think this product offers value for you. See our full review of Vivoactive 4 smartwatch :
Design of Vivoactive 4
Vivoactive 4 has Gorilla glass 3 protectors with water resistance of up to 5 ATM. It measures 45.1 x 45.1 x 12.8 mm and looks similar to Forerunner 645 and Vivoactive 3. Garmin’s VivoActive 4 smartwatch is very comfortable to wear all day long if you want and thanks to 5ATM water protection, you can take it to shower and swim too.
Vivoactive 4 screen performance
Vivoactive 4 smartwatch has a 1.3-inch 260 x 260 transflective MIP screen with an always-on display. Thanks to its transflective screen they are clear and bright in outer sunlight so you won’t have any issue. It also emits light, so you can view it in complete dark situations and the screen consumes very little battery which is an added advantage.
User interface and controls
This fitness smartwatch has an improved touchscreen implementation, having two buttons and a simple, flat interface. Garmin Vivoactive 4 smartwatch has fewer buttons than the forerunner series which is not a deal-breaking thing, although Vivoactive 3 had only one button. The interface is much like a smartwatch rather than one’s found in a fitness-focused watch. It has easy to use UI, which is clean.
Exercise tracking Vivoactive 4 features
With perfect tracking of location and heart rate monitoring, Vivoactive 4 smartwatch has excelled in this feature than competitors. If you want to focus only on exercise let me tell you, this is an excellent choice. It comes with Garmin’s Pulse OX which perfectly measures SPO2 and internal respiration. With loads of other features offered by many other watches, this watch excels in most of them. A Perfect fitness watch to say, at least by a huge margin.
Battery life review
Vivoactive 4 by Garmin, should last up to eight days of standard tracking as told by Garmin. But in our use it lasted only 4 days with moderate use, including 2 hours of GPS daily and two sessions of running, and an hour of heartbeat tracking with occasional SPO2 measurements. Which okay but not great to say. If you are a heavy user you might have to think once, Vivoactive 4 smartwatch takes an hour to charge fully from zero.
Our Final Say, We have listed out all the pros and cons of the Garmin Vivoactive 4 smartwatch, our final verdict, go with this fitness watch if you’re looking for fitness and exercising purpose smartwatch with a great screen, clean UI, accurate heart, and SPO2 tracking, the department where it needs improvement is the battery, Overall this is a great fitness smartwatch watch offered by fitness-focused Garmin.
